Farmer's Daughter Cross Stitched Quilt Progress

I have been working on designs that interpret quilt blocks, and the latest piece I've been stitching my way through is a cross stitched version of a Farmer's Daughter quilt.

First week of stitching the model

It's a pretty big project, much bigger than most of the designs I have done in the past, but I am quite pleased with the way it is turning out. There are 12 squares total. I'm currently working on the sixth.  My plan, which is always evolving, is to do four of these, with the idea that they could all be worked into an actual quilt.

Second week of model stitching. Five of the twelve squares complete now.

Also on the drawing table, a new series that I am hoping to work in crochet embellishments fashioned from embroidery floss and perle cottons. I've always made little flowers with these threads and I'm working my distributor to offer them as embellishment packs for a line of designs. I'm currently working on a few sketches, so more on that later!

  1. I like it! :-D -- And fitting it into a quilt would be rather cool. BTW, love the stitches of "stitches"! A very cute "detail"!
