Creative pause--

It's not that I haven't been doing anything worthy of a Creative 365 post, I just have not finished anything to put up! School has me very busy as we head into the home stretch before graduation, and it has left me with smaller bits of time to do other things. I should have Bug Bungalow done by the end of the week, and I also have a new hat I've been working on that I've just the finishing touches to complete.

I ordered new fabric paints to try out, as I have been working on sketches of earth inspired fabrics I want to try to hand paint. More on that later as well. (Including a new Etsy shop that will deal specifically with these new fabrics)

So for today, let's just toss out a few interesting images I've run across in recent days!

Enjoy!

(And yes, another blog appearance change. I'm kind of diggin' this one!
yeah, yeah, I know. Heard that before, haven't you.)

Creative 365: Day 45 Texture shots at the golf course

While waiting for my daughter to finish her golf meet, I walked around and took a few pictures. Just goofing around, really. It was so windy, and me with my little point and shoot camera, my shots were really limited.

I've not done anything with adjusting these, just thought I would throw them up for my creative thingy today!

Creative 365: Day 41 & 42 Works in Progress

The last two days I have been working on the doll blankets and also stitching Bug Bungalow. I hope to have the new design finished over the weekend. So, I have nothing to show today as far as my creative every day thingy is concerned even though I have been working!

How about another interesting image to inspire?

texture again

I've always been drawn to images that might not be the most aesthetically pleasing to most, or images that others might just pass by because what they see is something worn out beyond use. If one looks just a little deeper and searches for the story, my experience has been that there is usually one there.

If there isn't? You just make something up!

texture

I have been spending a bit of time each day collecting images and textures. In my search tonight, I found this one and thought it interesting.  The image is free on the Texture King site, so feel free to snurch!

Friday Morning Walk About

Cone Flowers
My daughter and I went out hiking this morning with cameras in hand. It was a beautiful morning even with the bugs. A few dragonflies stopped to say hello though!

Butterfly Bushes

I also took some more "texture" shots for textile inspiration

Nature's Textures

I have been taking a lot of creative inspiration from nature as of late.  Yesterday I was in the studio for awhile in the afternoon sorting through some new-old fabric that I had found at the thrift stores, and I ran across some photos I took some time ago of the bark of old trees.  My original intent was to try and recreate those textures with fabric, or to digitally manipulate the images and print them to fabric.

This morning my daughter and I went for a walk in the woods with cameras in hand and I took a few more pictures as different natural textures caught my eye.  These were stone and bark primarily, but I also snapped a few of the greener things we came across.

Now for a weekend amidst heaps of fabric and fibers and these pictures to see if I can put down what I am seeing in my head!
