yeah, yeah, i know...

Really, Cari?

Another change to your blog name?

Well, I've been trying for awhile to find something that resonated with me. Every time I *think* I have it, I find something else, and I am sure it will happen again. But for now, I believe this is it.

meraki.

It is a greek word (which came across my Facebook feed from the 'Word Porn' page) that means the soul, creativity or love put into something, or the essence of yourself that is put into your work.

The new year looms.  I've a head full of things I want to do, things I want to dig into. I want to breathe new life into  ideas I have shelved for whatever reason, and really work to find some sort of direction with my artwork.

I want to reclaim my meraki.

  2. Actually...................... to build brand name recognition and keep your followers from being confused, the best practice is to name it the same as you website and just add blog. Then add a link to the site and a blog link to your website, so that they both seem like they are a part of each other.

    Right now you have:

    Carolyn Manning Designs

    Fuzzy Stitches on Etsy

    CMDesigns on Spoonflower

If people search for you using any one of them, they might not find the others. Or, if someone knows you by one name and lands on another site, they might not recognize it right away as yours. It just makes things clear for people to have one name and then bang that one name into their heads.

Sorry to be a party pooper! You could always use Meraki as a subtitle to the brand name. How would you even use it? Is it a noun or a verb?

Carolyn Manning Designs adds meraki to the embroidered world!

    or

Carolyn Manning Designs, merakiing with forward thinking!
