The Meet Up: October Goals
Just where did September go??
A review of my goals...
1. Complete a freebie design for Wichelt Imports.
I didn't even get a chance to get to this one. Grr. Will have to make an attempt soon to work on it. It does not take that long and they have been so wonderful and generous with their fabric samples over the years that I cannot neglect this project.
2. Keep working on the quilt fabric collection.
I am working with Karen Combs' guidance to try and put together a collection that is based on my Snowballz and Snowbugz cross stitch designs. This has been great fun and I am making progress with this.
3. Two new cross stitch designs completed and out for distribution
I met this goal, two new designs out!
4. Keep up with my classes!
So far so good!
On to October...
I went to my first TNNA Market in St. Louis a week ago and found myself greatly inspired. I have a lot of big projects in the works, so I am going to keep my goals fairly simple.
1. Complete the fabric collection.
2. Two new designs.
3. Wichelt Imports free chart.
Good luck MeetUpers on your October goals! May we all have a productive Autumn!

September MeetUp: My Goals
August was a busy month. College classes started back up for me two weeks ago, and my children are both athletes and their high school sports teams have been practicing most of August. Needless to say, I was switching out 'hats' frequently this month.
My August goals were:
1. Complete the new line and chart the designs.
I managed to sketch out three new designs and am still charting them, so this goal is partially met!
2. Follow up on the fabric lines (that I am still waiting to hear back on)
I heard back from most of the companies I had contacted or sent portfolios to. After a fair number of 'not interested' messages, I am currently working with someone from Print Concepts and have gotten a lot of very good information about the industry. I was given some pointers and guidance, and hope that my concepts will eventually become part of their fabric lines. More to come with that!
3. Participate in 3/4 weeks of the Mixed Media Monday group that I had been regularly participating in but have missed out on now for a few weeks. I miss them!
I missed out the entire month on this one. There was just no time! :/
4. Complete two new cross stitch designs and have them out for distribution.
I finished two designs and almost a third.

Good Luck with your goals, MeetUp-ers!

The Meetup: Welcome August!
July wasn't as productive for me as June had been. My goals and what I accomplished were:
Distribute 3 new designs
Well, I managed to get two new designs out. One of them, Blight, Broomhilda & Booz is fairly large and the model stitching took me longer than usual. I also had a lot of hours at the group home in July so that cut into stitching time.
Sketch out a new line of characters to be charted and started in September.
I did get some stitching done. Thumbnails really, and nothing that I can chart from, but at least I have some ideas down on paper.
Increase traffic to my website
Traffic did increase slightly. Up from an average of 15 visitors a day to 22. I did have an increase in sales from the website as well, so that made me feel a bit better.
August Goals:

Good luck everyone on your goals!

The Meetup: July Goals
Wow, June just seemed to be here one day and gone the next! It occured to me last night that it was time to look to July and what I hope to accomplish in the upcoming month.
First, there is June and my goals were:
1.Finish three new designs
I finished four. Seasons, Xavier, Yasamine and Zeke
2. Get a fabric line completed and submitted for consideration.
I sent off lines to be considered by two different companies. I am really happy with how they turned out. Hopefully they'll think the same!
3. To continue to find new ways to recycle and work found objects into my work.
I didn't really have designs this month that I could do this, but I was thinking ahead and did find some buttons at the thrift stores for future use. So I suppose I could partially cross this one off!
4. Explore two new blogs.
This was great fun. My 'blogs I follow' list has doubled
5. Finish my TNNA application and submit it for membership.
My membership was approved and I thank Hoffman Distributing, Kreinik Manufacturing and Wichelt Imports for the supporting letters to the TNNA. I will be attending my first show in September and look forward to learning more about the industry and finally meeting some of the people that have been on the other side of the emails and phone calls all these years!
